Essex salon, Hairlounge47 proved that dreams can come true by reaching the Grand UK Finals of the prestigious Wella Trendvision Awards 2019. The salon based in Kelvedon, Colchester shook up the hair fashion world by winning the regional finals in Central London.

Since 1998 Wella TrendVision has been showcasing the UK’s best stylists by pitching them a choice of four varying themes to draw inspiration from. The glittering show took place at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms and was attended by celebrities such as Nicky Clarke, Robert Eaton and Desmond Murray.

Winning the regional finals is a dream come true for Stylist Emily Worboys and Director Wasif Khan.

This competition is one of the most prestigious awards in our industry and we were thrilled to get the chance to compete. For a village salon to reach the UK Grand Finals is truly amazing as we want to be recognised for our bespoke colour work. I am so proud of Emily and we will do our very best to bring the award back to Essex. - Wasif Khan.

Emily said,

I am still in shock as I have spent most of my life dreaming about this moment. Competing under the watchful eyes of the hair industry’s crème da la crème was a nerve racking experience but the Wella judges were warm and helped put me at ease. I will keep my feet on the ground and work very hard for the UK Finals.

The grand finals will be taking place on September 30th at the Roundhouse in London.
