Andrew Collinge Unveiled as a Legend of Industry

The winners of this year’s Legends of Industry Awards have just been unveiled, and amongst the seven lucky winners is hairdresser Andrew Collinge.

The glamorous black tie dinner awards ceremony, organised by children’s charity Variety, took place at the Hilton Hotel, Manchester on Thursday 24th October. Variety recognises there are many unsung leading ladies and gentlemen who have surpassed all expectations in their chosen fields of business and industry.

This year they honoured Andrew Collinge, whose long hairdressing career has seen him make a massive impact on the industry and win a string of industry awards. This year’s recipients of the Legends of Industry Awards included Eamonn Holmes (Television Industry), Joe Calzaghe CBE, MBE (Sports Industry), Phil Jones (Technology Industry), Sheila Ferguson (Music Industry), Lynda de la Plante CBE (Literary Industry), John Kennedy CBE, KSG, KMCO, DL (Construction Industry) and of course Andrew Collinge (Hairdressing Industry).

The award ceremony was hosted by Granada Television’s Paul Crone and guests enjoyed a sumptuous three course dinner followed by fantastic entertainment from the hilarious comic Josh Daniels, and the Singing Waiters.

The Variety Chairman, Mr Laurence Davis presented the recipients with their Legends of Industry Award and all funds raised on the night will benefit sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in the North West region. Andrew said,

I feel incredibly honoured to receive this award. It means a great deal, especially as Variety is a cause I feel so passionately about.
