The YAT and ProtŽgŽ Teams Hit London Fashion Week

Share

The Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Team and Clynol Protégé team went backstage at this year’s London Fashion Week to assist London salon, Easton Regal, on the hair for Ethologie by Jasper Garvida.

Held at Essie Carpets, a Persian carpet shop filled with exotic Eastern patterns and fabrics in London’s Mayfair district, the team members pulled together amongst the backstage madness and helped to create the hair look of the show - beautiful double braided crowns.

A well-loved trend, the braided look was worn in a relaxed but striking way, moving away from the sleek and perfected look and more towards something a little more lived-in and messy. With natural feminine shapes and soft wisps left out of the hairline to frame the face, the braids looked the ultimate in spring/summer glamour. As a whole, the look channelled strong Persian influences from the Ethologie collection, reflected in the choice of venue.

Young Artistic Team member, Grace Blackburn from Barrie Stephen Hair in Leicester, says,

It was an amazing experience and we definitely felt the pressure. We had to work quick as the models sat in an uncomfortable position balancing on carpets so we were trying hard to get it perfect first time. The braids were challenging but we worked in pairs, one making sure the hair was tight and neat whilst the other plaited. The attention to detail never ended as we worked hard between outfit changes to make sure the hair was still perfect! It was a fantastic experience and both teams worked so well together to make the catwalk a success.
